Everyone starts at 1500. Seasons follow the calendar quarter; a new season starts you halfway back toward 1500, so your history counts but the climb is fresh. The all-time rating never resets. Ratings use Glicko-2, which also tracks how sure it is about you – new and returning players move faster.
